What is that funny black and yellow car?
And what is Marva Beck doing driving it?
As a rancher, Marva Beck drove pickup trucks and SUVs for two decades. When she retired from ranching, she traded in her gas guzzlers for something lean and mean. Now as a candidate for State Representative, she now travels the five counties that comprise House District 57 in a fuel efficient Mini-Cooper.
Not just a practical mode of transportation, Marva’s yellow and black Mini Cooper is a symbol. “These are tough times,” Marva says, “we’ve all got to tighten our belts a bit, economize, and save where we can. That’s what my ‘Mini’ does. It gets me where I need to go. At 38 miles a gallon, it keeps my fuel costs down so I can travel District 57 more, talking to more people about what they want out of their government.”
Marva also says, “I want people to recognize my Mini-Cooper and know I’m out there traveling from town to town, listening and learning – so I’ll be a better public servant for the people when I get to Austin.”
When you see the black and yellow ‘Mini’, you’ll know it’s Marva Beck. So stop and introduce yourself – tell Marva what’s on your mind. She’s ready to hear from you.
That’s because Marva Beck isn’t a politician. Marva Beck listens – and she’s ready to work for you in Austin.
